The Story Of Us

It all started during a time when both of us were going through some rough patches in our lives. For me(Janne), sleepless nights had become the norm, and I often found comfort in the quiet, pixelated world of Minecraft, playing late into the night on a server.

One night, as I scrolled through the general chat, I saw someone named DGiraffe type, “Want to VC?” I thought he was talking to everyone, and something in me decided this was my chance to be brave and socialize. So, I joined the call—and that’s when I met him.

We started talking that night, and I guess… we never really stopped. What began as casual chats turned into daily conversations filled with deep thoughts, shared movies, endless laughter, and hours upon hours spent together. Somewhere along the way, I even joked, “You know how people have ‘work wives’ or ‘work husbands’? Well, you’re kind of my Minecraft husband.” Not long after that, we got "married" in the game—just for fun, of course.

But time has a funny way of turning playful jokes into something real. One day Tim bravely asked if i would have dated him if we lived just a little closer. My answer was yes without a doubt. Despite both of us insisting we weren’t cut out for long-distance relationships, we fell for each other—hard. It didn’t matter that we lived miles apart because, without even realizing it, we had already started dating in every way that mattered.

On December 19, 2023, Tim took the sweetest step, he asked my dad for permission to officially date me. We spent nearly a year growing our relationship across screens and time zones before finally meeting in person when Tim flew to Norway in early November 2024. At the end of that month, I flew back to the U.S. with him, hearts full and hand in hand.

Then, exactly one year after we officially started dating, on December 19, 2024—Tim got down on one knee and asked me the easiest question I’ve ever had to answer: if I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.

Spoiler alert: I said yes.

Registry

Since we're not quite sure where we'll be settling down, we don’t have many physical gift requests. Instead, we’d truly appreciate contributions to help us build funds for future expenses—whether it’s our honeymoon or simply the costs of starting our life together. Your support means the world to us as we step into this new chapter.

If you’d like to give a gift, you can click the link to our registry to see the physical items we’re wishing for. Alternatively, you can help us build our funds through Vipps (for Scandinavians), Cash App (for Americans), or PayPal. Any support is much appreciated.

Fun Facts!

I was born in Bærum, Norway, but at five, my family moved to the small village of Kvikne. Growing up there taught me a lot both good and bad, but most of all, it gave me a deep appreciation for nature. My parents often had to drag me on hikes, but looking back, I’m grateful they did. Now, home feels like the mountains we climbed and the river I loved spending time by. My parents always had an open door, welcoming anyone who stopped by. They taught me kindness, hospitality, and unwavering support. Values I will carry with me as I start this new chapter in my life with Tim.

Life has been a bumpy ride, but I’m grateful to God for shaping me into who I am today. Above all, I’m blessed He brought Tim into my life. I can’t wait to spend life with him, sharing laughter, facing challenges, and building a home full of love (and maybe a dog named Noodles). No matter what life throws our way, I know there’s no one else I’d rather walk this journey with.

Tim is a little color blind and cant see

greens and yellows very well.

Some of the colors he can see very

well are blues and purple, hes curent

favorite color though is cyan

Tim and Janne met

in 2023 playing minecraft.

The first gift Tim ever got

Janne was a cute turtle

neckless ingraved with the

words "love you forever"

Janne's favorite Norwegian

word that Tim says besides

"Elsker deg" is "Sjiraff"

Janne once started

throwing books and

toys out onto the roof. She claims

that se lost a toy out

there and was trying to get it down.

I grew up in a little town called Elgin located in Oregon, USA. There I experienced so much life, laughter, sorrow, and Joy. I have broken many things in my life (11 bones, a few rods of correction, many water glasses) there are two things that remain steadfast: My love for God and My love for Janne.

I have 4 biological brothers and a sister. We all somewhat got along and have strong bonds with each other. My siblings have taught me how to be a good friend and how to hide from someone bigger than you. I also have a wonderful father and mother who taught me honor, obedience, and a love for God and Family. They taught me patience and how to be kind. I believe it is now my turn to pass on these gifts to Janne. As we take off on our lifelong adventure I know we will share many moments of laughter, some frustrations and maybe a pet or two (maybe a fox). I believe God will be by our side every step of the way.
